_Decline_Info
My task involved reading and selecting one book from a choice of four, upon which I would base my visual concept. I opted for “The Mysteries of Easter Island In: Humankind; A hopeful History book."
_Concept
After delving into the initial chapters of the book, I was struck by the theme of decline and decay, particularly in the quote, “There was nothing at all about a society in decline” (Harari, 2011, p. 124). This notion of decline resonated with me, especially as the book later explored concepts such as disease and population decrease. Equating decline with disease, I chose to centre my visual concept around the idea of a disease and its potential appearance. I envisioned various fluid forms of theoretical diseases that could have affected the inhabitants of Easter Island.

_Moodboard
I aimed for this piece to radiate vibrancy, inspired by my perception of microscopic organisms as incredibly lively. Furthermore, I considered the natural principle that the more vibrant a creature, the more dangerous it tends to be. During my research, I encountered numerous spherical and circular objects adorned with swells and patterns, which I have integrated into the final outcome.
