Lost in Imagination refers to the state of being lost within one's imagination—a space where the power of imagination serves as a weapon against the constraints of reality. This concept, inspired by Jules de Gautier's quote, emphasizes the ability of imagination to enable us to explore new possibilities and escape the limitations of our existence.
This project aims to explore the power of imagination as a tool to escape the constraints of reality and create a safe and immersive virtual environment for people to relax and explore. Through the use of captivating video, the project will explore a mapped utopia with a distinct surreal environment, utilising an aesthetic rooted in reality but subverting materiality, textures and sounds. The ultimate goal is to create a transformative and enlightening experience that has spiritual meaning.
mind after conducting a survey. To achieve this, I used a combination of urban and natural landscapes, referencing my research. Sound played an important role in creating an immersive experience.
In the design, I utilised 3D CGI models with motion design elements embedded in the scene to reinforce the utopian vision. I conveyed this through various surreal environments, each with their own unique materials, textures and sounds. The end result was a truly immersive experience that captured the essence of the lost imagination.
